Head of Virtual & Adaptive Production
Entertainment Technology Center – ETC

Erik Weaver
Erik Weaver’s work sits at the intersection of AI-driven filmmaking and On-Set Virtual Production (OSVP), where he has pioneered new pipelines that integrate generative AI, cloud-native workflows, and virtual stage environments.
He has been a leading force in shaping how studios adopt OSVP—spearheading landmark shoots such as Fathead on Amazon Stage 15 and Europa on Sony Stage 7—while simultaneously advancing AI-native production with projects like ChickaBOOM (AI animation), Pathways (hybrid iPhone + AI backgrounds), and The Bends (fully generative).
His approach bridges practical production with AI augmentation, focusing on provenance, creative rights, and scalable pipelines that define the future of studio-level filmmaking.

Digital Twins Technical Director · Virtual Production Engineer
Image Campus

Daniel Cappelletti
Specialist in Unreal Engine with extensive expertise in digital twins and virtual production, he led the Digital Twins area at K&S Films and Control Studio for the Netflix series El Eternauta, where he developed large-scale digital twins through advanced 3D scanning techniques, faithfully recreating Buenos Aires’ urban environments for seamless integration into virtual production and visual effects.
As a technical coordinator and instructor at Image Campus—Latin America’s pioneering institute in new technologies for video games and media, and an Epic Games Academic Gold Partner—he teaches Unreal Engine courses focused on storytelling and virtual production. He also designed the educational tracks in Virtual Reality, Digital Twins, and Volumetric Video, shaping the next generation of creators at the intersection of immersive media and production innovation.

What is Virtual Production?
Virtual Production is cutting-edge technology that is revolutionizing the audiovisual industry by offering a more efficient, cost-effective, and creative way to produce content. It combines real-time rendering, motion capture, and LED Volumes to create immersive environments, enabling filmmakers to visualize and modify scenes on set, streamline post-production, and enhance creative flexibility
Projects such as El Eternauta from Netflix have proved that the production costs can decrease up to 70% using Virtual Production at Latin American countries, compared to producing at Los Ángeles.
How is Latin America doing?
Latin America is rapidly emerging as a key region for virtual production, offering a powerful mix of creative talent, cost efficiency, and growing technical infrastructure. With a young and highly skilled workforce in areas like visual effects, real-time engines, and animation, the region provides an exceptional opportunity for studios looking to produce high-quality content while optimizing budgets.
Countries like Mexico, Colombia, Brazil, Chile and Argentina are expanding their virtual production capabilities, supported by government incentives and international co-production agreements. This makes Latin America an increasingly attractive destination for global investment in immersive and cinematic content creation.
